HANSON John Gary anti Vernon Brost are the Supervisors of the R.H.S. I)rama Club which was rccently organized. The of- ficers are: Nadine Schwartz, president; Chris Stokes, secretary, and Audree Fat- zinger, treasurer. The l)rama Club will select plays and perform them during the year. The first production of the I)rama Club will be the Christmas Operetta which is entitled "Once Upon a Silent Ni4ht". It will be held in the new gym on lc. 20. Grades Burns Finishes Basic Training Grcgg Burns, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Burns, has finished basic training and two and one- half weeks of schooling at San i)icgo where he was one of the top six in his class of 50 with a 3.4 average. After spending his two weeks leave at home, he will be reporting to Philadelphia where he is assigned to the dcstroyer, USS Charles S. Sperry. one through 12 will participate. The Holiday Invitational basketball tournament will be held in Richey, Dec. 15 and 16, with Brockton, ,Jordan, l,ambcrt and Rich ey, par- ticipating. The games begin at 7 and 9 p.m. Prices for adult tickets will be $1.25; 75 cents for high school students and 50 cents for grade children. The regular and permarlent passes will not be honored at this tournament. The Girls Basketball tour- nament will be held in Circle, l)ec. 11, 12 and 13. The games on 1)ec. 11 will start at 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Carrol l,indsay, Mrs. Phil Adamson and Mrs. Dorothy Colter went to Miles City, Nov. 28, where they observed the operation of the English Program of the Junior and Senior High. Mrs..Jim CoRer and her mother, Mrs. Rachel Waag, and l,illian Nelson, Glendive, went to Plentywood, Sunday, to attend the Mortgage Burning Ceremonies of the l,utheran Church where Mrs. Waag's son, Rev. Richard Waag, served as resident pastor from 1956 to 1960. Rev. Waag and wife, I',othell, Wash., were present for the occasion. Mrs..lee Ziegler went to Sidney for a medical check-up Monday and also visited her husband in the Richland Homes. She visited other Richcyites, Edithe Nelson, Bess Carlsen-and Emelie Miller. lh.v. Mueller, Fergus Falls, Minn., was guest speaker at the CMA Church, Nov. 26, and was a guest that weekend in the Jim Colter home. Other dinner guests, Sunday, were Mr. and Mrs. Norman l,indevig, l,ambert; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Tomhre, Savage; Mrs. Marvin Mitchell and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Saxton Cummings. The November meeting of the American l,egion Auxiliary was hchl in the hore of Mrs. ale .lcnsen with Mrs. Floyd Stokes as co-hostess. Ten members were in attendance. The first vice president, Mrs. Tony Unruh, presided at the business session in the absence of the president, Mrs. E. H. Walker. Gifts were sent to the gift shop at the .V.A. Hospital in Miles City. A box of clothing was given by different Auxiliary members to the family of Joe Witteop, whose home and all belongings were burned at Circle. It was also voted to send a donation to the Chapel of the Four Chaplains and the I,eonard Wood Memorial, a fight against leprosy. A Christmas gift was sent to the adopted boy at Pine Hills. Mrs. Vernon Brost was ap- pointed to serve on the Sun- shine Committee. Members were reminded that the time is past due for the Auxiliary dues to be paid. The Richey Homemakers Christmas party was held in the home of Mrs. ale Jensen, Dec. 1, with a potluck dinner at noon. Mrs. Roland Grundmeyer was co-hostess with Mrs. Jensen. The house and table were decorated in the Christma colors. At the Christmas gift ex- change, after dinner, the secret pals for the year were revealed and election of officers for the ensuing year was held. Officers arc: Mrs. Bill H. Miller, re- elected president; Mrs. Alvin I,olxlell, vice president; and Mrs. Roland Grundmeyer, re- elected secretary - treasurer. The .lan. 5 meeting will be hehl in the home of Mrs. E. H. Walker with Mrs. Saxton Cummings as co-hostess. Funeral services were held for Julia Graber, 68, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Community Methodist Church in Richey with Rcv. Robert Kenny of- ficiating. The American I,egion Auxiliary chorus sang two numbers, "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art." Rev. Kenny and Mrs. I,loyd Eggum .sang "My I,ord and I". All were accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Ira Zuroff Sr. Pallbearers were Ira Zuroff St., Robert Eggebrecht Sr., Roland Grundmeyer, John Unruh, Jim Raisl and Alfred Unruh. Interment was in the l{ichey cemetery. I,unch was served in the church parlors by the WSCS after the services. Mrs. Veril Jensen (Nona) of I,ong Beach, Calif.; Eugene Graber of I,ong Beach; Wesley Graber of Eugene, Ore.; Kenneth Graber and wife, Bozcman, and Mrs. Ray (Bernice) Miller and husband, Sidney, came for the funeral of their mother, Mrs. Ralph Graber, Sunday. Her son, Arches Graber, Seattle, Wash., was unable to come. Mrs. Melvin Schwartz is a patient in the Mcone County lid,petal recuperating from the after effects of a one car roll- over accident that took place last week south of Richey on County road 254. She hit a patch of ice which caused her to lose control of her car, a 1971 Rambler Matador, which was badly dented up. Mr. and Mrs. ale Jensen drove to Medicine I,ake, Saturday, being called there by the death of her brother, Roy l,arson, that morning. The sympathy of her many friends goes to the Jensens at this time. Mr. and Mrs. George Strobel returned on Sunday from Fureka, S. D., where they attended the funeral of Mrs. Strobel's niece's husband and four - month - old daughter, namely Kenneth Gienger and Wcndy Jo. The mother is hospitalized in an Aberdeen hospital as a result of a head-on collision. The Broncs won the game 55-46 desPite the two points scored by Johnson on this play. Mark Gram Photo Troop 187 Holds Night For Pa Troop 187 had parents night recently. This' was a potluck dinner and court of honor combined. Guests for the evening were Jim Hill, District executive and his wife, along with the parents of the Scouts and their families. Highlights of the evening were films shown by Jim Hill, advertising the National .lamboree, film shown by John Ratliff, the scoutmaster, on troop activities of 1972, and awards presented to the boys for achievements they had earned. A. J. Olson was awarded his star scout progress award along with four merit badges in Automotive Safety, Fishing, Woodcarving and cooking. A. J. Olson then pinned on his mother a miniature pin of the Star rank. ,lira Bender was awarded his second class progress award. ,lira transferred to Troop 187 this fall from Troop 517 in I,ivingston. Others receiving awards were Karlon Schmitt, scout skill awards in com- munications, conservation, family life, camping, cooking and environment; Scott Ramus, Ran Rehbein, A. J. Olson, Karlon Schmitt, Dennis Heck, Dewayne Heck, Bob Peacock, Jolin Peacock and Randy Getchell, received in- strutters warrants leadership corp. insignias. Parents who were were Bill Peacock, Dan and Andy Olson for their vice to the troop. honored for service to the were Father Sampson, McIntosh, Knights of and Bud Rehbein. I,ewis will be given his stitutional Rel patch at the next meeting. Altogether there were 70 people present for Parents night and court honor. Jim Hill spoke to the telling them about scouting its organization and new scout program. He stressed the need of assistant scoutmaster Troop 187.
