10A-We y, Sept. 3, 2003 Serving the MonDak area since 1908 Lambert news BY FRANCES STEPPLER Correspondent Funeral services for Nancy Wall were held in Lustre, Saturday, Aug. 16. She was killed in a car accident east of Glasgow, Aug. 12. She is survived by her husband, Dwain, a former teacher of the Lambert School in 1973-74, one son, four daugh- ters, one sister and her mother. Interment was in the Lustre Mennonite Brethren Cemetery in Lus- tre. Students leaving for their freshman year in Col- lege are, Cole Thornton, Jamestown College, Jamestown, N.D.; Chris Evenson, St. Mary's Uni- versity, Bismarck, N.D.; Chrissie Prevost, North- west College, Powell Wyo.; Josh and Gerard Bearss, Northwest College, Orange City, Iowa; Rebecca Ulrickson, Cornelle College, Mt. Vernon, Iowa; Kurtis and Jamie Brandt, University of Montana-Tech, Butt; and Nathan Rosaaen, MSU- Bozeman. Kelly and Jenny Vaira and David and Karla Step- pier attended funeral services for Carol Neer in Sidney, Monday, Aug. 25. Connie and Gene Bankey, Miles City, were Sun- day overnight guests of Connie's sister, Alice Mercier, Lambert. Thursday and Friday overnight guests were Phyllis and Kenneth Runyon, Ohio. They were here to attend their sister Millie Goulart's funeral. Alice Diede and sons Dick and Don made a trip to Valier to visit her son Kenny, his wife Terry and family last week. College students who are leaving this weekend are David, Cody, Wes and Loni Steppler and Darcy Klasna for MSU-Bozeman; Mellissa Turnbull. Carroll College, Helena; and Alan Larson for Pow- ell, Wyo. Karla Steppler, MSU-Billings, is study- ing special education. This is her fifth year in col- lege, and on completion of special education and her student teaching, she will have her master's degree in special education and physical education coaching. Virginia Schillinger and daughter Christen left Sunday. to return to their home in Manhatten. Mont., after spending a few days with her father, Ed. Goulart. Gordon Oakland attended funeral services for Gunhild Sponheim in Fairview, Wednesday, Aug. 27. School pictures were taken at the Lambert School Wednesday, Aug. 27. Brett Irigoin celebrated his 18th birthday with family in Sidney. Tuesday, Aug. 26. Attending from Elmdale was his grandmother, Dolores Irigoin and his uncle, Gene Irigoin. Iban Sturabide left this weekend to return to his home in France. He spent a few weeks visiting his aunt, Therese Bidegaray, Sidney, and his cousin Kathy Irigoin, her husband Tom and family, North Lambert. Sheelah Prevost visited her mother. Mona.E BY FRANCES STEPPLER Correspondent Family, relatives and friends gathered at the home of Rockey and Lori Norby, north of Sidney, for a barbeque and a farweil for their son Jeremy and his wife, Lorilee (Steppler) Norby, with best wishes on their trip to Anchorge, Ala. They left Saturday, Aug. 19. They had a good trip with no trouble. Judy Turnbull and daughter Mellissa took her nephew, Toby Turnbull, to his home in Cam- bridge, Idaho, last week. Toby spent the summer with his uncle, aunt and cousins, Nell and Judy Turnbull and children. Mona Homemakers held a watermelon party for the residents of the Culbertson Nursing Home Thursday, Aug. 14. Roy and Carol Fatsinger counted their blessings last week when the big blackout occurred in New York City and New Jersey. They had just returned home from New Jersey where they visited their daughter Stacey and Marc Niles. Some of the young people from this area have been making trips to Culbertson to enjoy swim- ming. Shannon Steppler spent last week visiting her parents Dean and Doris Steppler and Wes and Kyla before returning to St. Mary's College in Bis- marck, N.D. dale news Jenny Rindahl returned Wash., where she visited her (Kevin) Mclntosh and family She accompanied her and Christa on a train for their spending two weeks with Jenny and Kenny Rindahl. Penny Muth and children left home in Palmer, Ala., after summer with her and her sister Barbie (Duane) relatives in the area.
