SIDNEY HERALD Raisin You’ve probably been told at one time or another in your life to “mind your manners.” In other words, you bet- ter change your behav- ior or else " This morning I am going to remind you, “your mind matters.” More specifically, what you allow into your mind and what you al- low your mind to focus on matters. In fact, what you allow into your mind and what you allow your mind to focus on directly affects your behavior. Our thoughts have far more influence on us than our circumstances or even our relation- Check our Web site for upcoming events. ww.sldneyag.com 5mm éSSEMBLV OF GOD 414 E. Your mind matters. What you allow into your mind and what you allow your mind to focus on matters. What you allow into your mind and what you al- low your mind to focus on will determine how you conduct your life, how you treat others and how you view your circumstances. What you believe affects how you behave. When we don’t line up our thinking with the truth of God’s word, the SUNDAY, JUNE 9, 2019 15A Your mind matters result will be un- spiritual minds that are filled with dle notions. It is pos- sible to be born again and to be thinking and as a result, behaving in less than God honoring ways. Many of us believe “I could never do that.” Or “I am afraid of...” The truth of God’s word reminds us that, “All things are possible with Religious words Pastor Paul Turek God.” Mark 10:27 would include the things you don’t believe you can do and the things you are afraid of right now. We are also reminded to, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, do not be dis- couraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 When you surrender your life to Jesus Christ, you need not be afraid or discour- aged because no matter where you go and no matter what you face in this life, the Lord your God will be with you! Many people believe they are worthless, that they will never measure up. Listen to the truth of God’s word. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works. Ephesians 2:10 You are God’s work of art! God doesn’t make any mistakes. You are also created by God: “For you cre- ated my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonder- fully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.” Psalm 139:13-14 Regardless of your body size or shape, regardless of what- ever it is that you are believing that makes you think that you are worthless, it’s not true! Finally, if you are still believing you are worthless, know this: “The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you; He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 The God who created the universe created you and he delights in you! You are not worthless! Believe it! What we believe af- fects how we behave. I invite you to believe the truth and start seeing God, yourself and your situations through the lens of God’s word.
