SIDNEY HERALD SUNDAY, MARCH 17,2019 13A Some may remember the television program by that name, and we may be able to find cur- rent episodes or replays somewhere off the cable networks. If your final answer was correct, and you could have help; audi- ence, help line, a friend, who might know more about the subject than you, you would win MORE MONEY! The object was money. The more final answers you got right, the more money you received. But there are more important questions and answers in life, and they seldom produce the ben- efits of “more money” e.g. the questions having to do with blood pressure and blood sugars, and oxygen in your blood. These have to do with life Religious words Rev. Dr. Mark Nicolous and death. We spend millions, not win or receive millions, on the answers to these questions. V There are consider- ations of medical exams (money spent), insur- ance (money spent), The final answer medicine (money spent) in answering these ques- tions. Let me offer that there is one other question which is the most impor- tant question. It does not have to do with “more money”. You cannot have others who may know than you about this topic help you with the answer. The answer must come from within you with full conviction. We find this in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 16. It takes place shortly before the Transfiguration when Jesus, Moses, and Elijah appeared in the ter, James and John. Jesus, the peripa- tetic (walking around) teacher was instructing His disciples, at Cae- serea Philippi, a city in far northern Israel, now under Syrian control. He asked His dis- ciples who people said/ thought He was. Their answers reflected the social “take” of the time. Some said/ thought that John the Baptist had come back to life, some that Elijah had come back from heaven to life, some that He was THE prophet, etc.. Then, as I imagine, He paused, stopped their walking, and He looked at them, maybe each one eye to eye, and asked the Final Question. “BUT, WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM? How they answered that question would make the difference be- tween eternal damnation and eternal life/ heaven. We have only the answer of Peter on the record. He said, “You are THE Christ (the New Testament version of Messiah), the SON of the LIVING GOD!” MT 16:16 That answer was not going to make Peter or any of the other disciple/ apostles and money. It was going to bring them suffering, discrimination, torture, and death. But it would bring the everlasting life/ heaven! In the let century that question still stands. Who do YOU say that I am? How each one of us answers that question will make the difference between going to heaven, or that other place. Either one answers with Peter and all true believers, “You are THE Christ, the Son of the Living God,” and put our hope/ assurance of forgiveness by the death and resurrection of * Jesus, and go to heaven, or we don’t. What is your final answer? Cartwright St. Michael 8: All Angels E isco 1 Check our Web site for upcoming events. .V wwvrsidneyagxom Church,‘ 01-5‘ 2- 9278 or 701-744- 414 E.
