Sunday, Jan. 5 The Butt Out Tobacco Cessation Support Group's introductory meet- ing is 6:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairview. The group is sponsored by the Fairview Ministe- rial Association. Monday, Jan. 6 Sidney City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. Richland County commissioners meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in their office at the Richland County Courthouse. The Richland County Fair Board meets at 5:30 p.m. in the fair office. Tuesday, Jan. 7 Richland County commissioners meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in their office at the Richland County Courthouse. Thursday, Jan. 9 Sidney Kiwanis Club meets at noon at the Elks Lodge. Around Town The Herald's Around Town runs events a week in advance, so each calendar item submitted will appear at least nice (if submitted in time). Deadlines for Around Town are Monday at noon for the Wednes- day issue and Thursday at noon for Sunday. All items submitted should include a brief description of the event, date and time, location, admission fees or charges (if appli- cable) and a person to contact for additional information. For the Seniors Sidney Senior Citizens (813 Third St. N.E.) - Meets weekly on Thurs- days at 12:45 p.m. with a noon pot-luck meal on the third Thursday. Blood pressure readings and pulse checks are given on pot-luck day. Dinner is served every Monday and Friday at 11:30 a.m. Call President Richard Riedmann, 433-2292. Fairview Senior Citizens - Meals are at 11:30 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Savage Senior Citizens (Main Street) - Meets weekly on Thursdays at noon, with birthdays on the first Thursday, a business meeting on the second Thursday and meals every Thursday.
